On Wednesday, March 15, 2006, public hearings were scheduled at the Hotel Arizona, 181 West Broadway, Tucson, at 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and at 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Commission members in attendance at 11:30 a.m. were Margaret Kenski (Chair), Bill Poorten, Mike Hellon, Richard Cosgrove, Robert Clements, Hon. Ted Borek and Jeffrey Nordensson. Commission staff member Eric Carlson also attended.
Margaret Kenski called the hearing to order and explained the Judicial Performance Review process. No members of the public attended the hearing.
The meeting was recessed from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Commission members attending at 4:30 p.m. were Margaret Kenski (Chair), Mike Hellon, Richard Cosgrove, Carl Piccarreta, Bill Poorten and Jeff Nordensson. No members of the public attended the hearing.
The hearing was adjourned at 5:30 p.m.

On Wednesday, March 22, 2006, public hearings were scheduled at the Arizona State Courts Building, 1501 West Washington, Suite 230, Phoenix, at 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Commission members in attendance at the 11:30 hearing were Roberta Voss (Vice Chair), Mike Hellon, Tom Smith, Barbara Glenn, Dee Sirkis and Raymond Sachs. Commission staff members Vanessa Haney and Eric Carlson also attended.
Roberta Voss called the hearing to order. One member of the public attended the hearing to observe but did not wish to address the Commission. No members of the public were present to address the Commission.
The hearing was recessed from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Commission members attending at 4:30 were Roberta Voss (Vice Chair), Barbara Glenn and Dee Sirkis. Two members of the public addressed the Commission regarding nine judges. A transcript of comments made at the hearing was prepared by a court reporter and will be provided to the full Commission for its consideration in making performance findings on the judges appearing on the 2006 retention ballot.
The hearing was adjourned at 5:30 p.m.
